What's a run on? A run on is a sentence that has enough material to be split into two sentences; it's multiple complete sentences scrunched up into one.
To turn a run on sentence into a complete sentence, there is a few ways to fix them; there's the comma and "FANBOY" [for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so], there's a semicolon[;] or the simple period[.] to split up the sentence so it is grammatically correct!
Examples of run on's:
~My cat is 7 years old he is very old.
~My PS2 is great it is my favorite.
~My name is Taylor I'm 18 years old.
Corrections and explanations:
~My cat is 7 years old, so he is very old
The comma and FANBOY were used in between "old" and "he" to correct the sentence
~My PS2 is great; it is my favorite.
Here a semicolon was used after "great"
~My name is Taylor. I'm 18 years old.
Just a basic period after "Taylor" was used to correct this sentence.
Because in one sentence there is more than one subject, and no way of dividing them making the sentence sound jumbled and incorrect.
